Getting Licensed

Interested in Selling Insurance | Lesson 4

Back to School

Did we mention that in order to get your license to sell, you have to pass an exam?

In preparation for that exam, it’s probably in your best interest to take something called a pre-licensing course.

As we mentioned in the last lesson, some states require you to take the exam and a pre-licensing course in order to get licensed.

And of course, like the other license requirements we’ve been discussing, the number of credit hours varies depending on the state, as do the topics you’ll learn about.

Some states, like Alaska, don’t have rules about pre-licensing classes. There, you only need to pass your exam.

We recommend taking these trainings because they’re a great way to prepare and study for the exam.

Pre-licensing classes, required or otherwise, can be taken a few different places online.

Here at Ritter, we partner with WebCE, and we offer a discount for working with them. We’ll have more info on their services and our discount on our resources page, so be sure to check that out.

Once you’ve completed your pre-licensing classes as per your state’s requirements, you’re ready to take your licensing exam!

Good luck! We’ll see you on the other side!
