The General Medicare Certification Training Requirements
Each year, in order to be ready-to-sell for AEP, you must complete annual Medicare and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse (FWA) training and product training for each Medicare Advantage (MA) and prescription drug plan (PDP) carrier you’d like in your portfolio.
Depending on the carrier, they may have their own trainings that meet the requirements of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services or accept other organizations’ trainings, such as AHIP certification or NABIP MA certification. You might also utilize platforms like Miramar:Agent (which also offers an FWA training) and Pinpoint Global used by carriers for their product trainings.
Check out our compilation of FAQs about AHIP Medicare certification and FAQs about NABIP Medicare certification for additional information on these trainings.
